The Conterno family is deeply rooted in Monforte d'Alba and you can clearly taste that in the wines. Before founding their own estate in 2003, Diego was a co-founder of the famous winery Conterno Fantino. 

The heart of the winery consists of three outstanding parcels in the famous Cru "Ginestra", which have been owned by the Conterno family for many decades. The concept of terroir is pursued here uncompromisingly.  This is implemented through a very purist vinification: All Barolos of the winery are first fermented in steel tanks and then aged in large wooden barrels made by the Austrian cooper Stockinger. The differences in the vineyards are thus precisely and accurately brought out.
