Le Spécial Club is the prestige cuvée of the house Pertois-Moriset and a pure Chardonnay Grand Cru Champagne from the best parcels of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most famous terroirs of the Côte des Blancs.

The grapes come exclusively from selected lieux-dits such as Les Jutées, Les Hauts d’Aillerands, Les Jeamprins, and Les Hautes Mottes – old, chalky sites that produce Chardonnay with exceptional depth, precision, and impressive minerality.

The wine is vinified in a combination of stainless steel (about 88%) and wooden barrels (about 12%), with malolactic fermentation deliberately prevented to preserve the natural tension, citrus freshness, and the straightforward character of the Mesnil terroir.

A minimum aging period of 60 months on the lees ensures an extremely fine mousse, creamy texture, and additional aromatic complexity.

Aromatically, Le Spécial Club shows the typical signature of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger: delicate notes of lemon blossom, white peaches, and grapefruit zest, combined with fine brioche, wet chalk, and subtle floral nuances.

On the palate, it is crystal clear and powerful, with a taut line, elegant creaminess, and a long, salty finish typical of the deep chalk soils of the Côte des Blancs.

The 2016 vintage produced Champagne of good quality despite frost and hail.

The wines present themselves structured, clear, and aromatically precise. As a top Blanc de Blancs, this cuvée combines elegance, finesse, and fidelity to origin, while also representing the uncompromising quality standards of the house and its membership in the renowned Club Trésors de Champagne.

Pertois-Moriset

The name of the winery originated from the marriage of Yves Pertois and Janine Moriset. Both come from old winemaking families of the Côte des Blancs. In 1951, the two decided to market Champagne under their own name in Mesnil-sur-Oger.

Today, the winery is run in the third generation by their granddaughter Cécille and her husband Vincent.

It now extends over 12 hectares of Chardonnay-planted vineyards in the Côte des Blancs as well as 6.5 hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay-planted vineyards in the Coteaux Sézannais. These vineyards are carefully tended without dogmatically adhering to any one philosophy.

In 2009, comprehensive investments were made in equipment, the cuverie, and cellar technology. Today, precise temperature control prevents malolactic fermentation to capture the typical freshness of the Côte des Blancs.
