Leonardi

Leonardi - this name guarantees the most exceptional quality in Aceto, due to the best natural raw materials and the greatest expertise and excellent craftsmanship in production. Bottled in beautiful, eye-catching bottles that reflect the special status of the product. The Leonardi family has also been managing the estate of "Campi Macri" for four generations and personally participates in the grape harvest. Surrounded by 9 hectares of vineyards lies the approximately 300-year-old Azienda of the Leonardi family, located 16 kilometers southwest of Modena. Since 1871, the Leonardi family has specialized in the production of Aceto Balsamico there. The estate is situated on the Campi Macri, known for their fertility since Roman times. Their property houses many historical tools, such as old barrels bearing the seal of Matilde of Canossa from the 12th century. Today, Giovanni Leonardi manages the farm and the Acetaia in the fourth generation together with his son Francesco. Between September and October, at a time when sugar and acidity are balanced, the grapes of the Lambrusco and Trebbiano vines are hand-harvested. Lambrusco has a strong, spicy character, while Trebbiano contributes sweet, delicate aromas.
