Nebbiolo grapes are the basis of Bramaterra. According to DOC regulations, it consists of 80% Nebbiolo and 20% Vespolina/Croatina. The grapes are handpicked exclusively in several passes; the different varieties and vineyards are brought in and vinified separately. The first phase of winemaking (fermentation and maceration) takes place in open Grenier oak vats. The young wine is then aged in repeatedly used barrique barrels and subsequently in large Stockinger oak barrels before being bottled after two years. It then matures for another one to two years before it can be shelved.
A wine of great elegance and untamed power. In the glass, it presents itself in a lively ruby red. On the nose, one can sense the aromas of forest fruits (blackberry, black currant, raspberry) as well as floral notes of violet. Added to this is the minerality from the porphyry soils, a distinct note of white pepper. We are sure – this wine will still make waves.
