The 100% Cortese grown in the south-western area of Barbaresco is fermented in French barriques. The approximately 30-year-old vines are located on an area of about 1 ha with calcareous clay soil. One of the most well-known wines from this grape variety is called Gavi, named after the region. However, here it is simply named Cortese after its grape.
