The Tarlant family has been producing wine in Œuilly since 1687. In 1911, Louis-Adrien Tarlant was involved in the uprisings of the Marne winemakers. He was also the one who drew the consequences and started filling his own Champagnes from 1928. In the 1980s, Jean-Mary Tarlant was one of the first to fill a Zéro-Dosage Champagne. This has developed into a major flagship in the range of Mélanie and Benoît Tarlant.
Benoît has been working at the winery since 1999 and was able to work alongside his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather at that time. He now produces wine from seven different varieties, from 13 hectares, and from 40 parcels in four locations. Each parcel is vinified separately, and he uses different containers for this. The acidity structure is important to him. He avoids malolactic fermentation in his wines as much as possible.
