Gérard Bertrand
Gérard owes his father Georges primarily the passion for wine and rugby. In his early youth, he was already introduced to the art of winemaking in the cellar of Villemajou. At the age of 12, he began playing at the rugby club of Narbonne and became, like Georges before him, a rugby star. After his successful career in professional rugby, he returned to the winery with a determined commitment to old values: maximum effort for top performance, fair play, and respect for people and the environment. Today, Gérard Bertrand is a passionate winemaker, where especially biodynamic agriculture plays a pioneering role. For his innovative strength and outstanding commitment to sustainability, he was recently awarded the “Green Emblem” by Robert Parker as one of only 24 wineries worldwide. This sets an important example and makes him a true role model in the wine world.
"Gérard Bertrand, an outstanding figure in the world of wine, is often referred to as a 'winemaker icon', 'pioneer of sustainability', 'rosé expert', and 'master of Languedoc'. His versatility and tireless commitment have continually redefined the wine industry. As a passionate advocate for sustainable practices, his wines reflect the terroir and spirit of southern France. Among his creations, the exclusive and highly acclaimed rosé wine Clos du Temple stands out. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Gérard Bertrand!"
