Nebbiolo grapes are the basis of Bramaterra. According to the DOC regulations, it consists of 80% Nebbiolo and 20% Vespolina/Croatina. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand in several passes; the different varieties and locations are brought in and processed separately. The first phase of winemaking (fermentation and maceration) takes place in open Grenier oak vats. The young wine is then aged in barrels that have been used multiple times and subsequently in large Stockinger oak barrels, before being bottled after two years. There, it matures for another one to two years before it can go on the shelf.
A wine of great elegance and untamed power. In the glass, it presents itself in a lively ruby red. On the nose, one can sense the aromas of forest fruits (blackberry, black currant, raspberry) as well as floral notes of violet. Added to this is the minerality from the porphyry soils, a distinct note of white pepper. We are sure – this wine will still make waves.
