Casale del Bosco
The Casale del Bosco winery shines with Tuscan red wines that are celebrated worldwide. The family's vineyards, now about 80 hectares, nestle southeast of Florence in the town of Montalcino on the gentle hills of Tuscany. In 1951, Silvio Nardi acquired the winery. He is considered a pioneer in the cultivation of Brunello di Montalcino. The wine, produced from a Sangiovese clone, is now among the best red wines in Italy. The warm, Mediterranean climate of the region favors the ripening of the sun-loving Sangiovese grape. The resulting DOCG wine first matures for several years in wooden barrels and then in the bottle. It is released for sale no earlier than the fifth year after harvest.
