50% Tempranillo, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot. L'Angelet is made from a selection of the best grapes from the oldest vines of the winery. All grapes are hand-picked. The aging method tends to optimize the technical effort. 35% of the wine remains for 16 months in French oak barriques (225L). Bottling is done without prior filtration or fining. Only in truly good vintages is a portion of L'Angelet turned into L'Angelet d'Or and aged for several more months in the barrel (L'Angelet 12 months) to give the wine an additional level of quality. This was the case in 2000, 2004, and again in 2011.
On the palate, a substantial play of aromas of black berries, espresso, and vanilla. Opulent and smooth tannins.
