The Soave DOC from Corte Giacobbe is the freshest expression of the Dal Cero family’s Garganega grape.

The image on the label depicts the lava rock, which is commonly found in the soils of the hilly Roncà area.

It pours into the glass with a brilliant straw-yellow color and greenish reflections.

The bouquet reveals a wide range of aromas: ripe melon and yellow orange, jasmine and chamomile, complemented by scents of rosemary and mountain hay. On the palate, it is pleasant, enveloping, and balanced; the melon and citrus fruits remain with a fresh, spicy finish accompanied by dried almonds.

It shows pronounced minerality and acidity, a beautiful expression of its origin.

The Garganega vineyards for this young Soave DOC from Tenuta Corte Giacobbe are located in the hilly area of Roncà. They lie on the slopes of the two extinct volcanoes Calvarina and Crocetta, east of the Soave region.

The strictly manual harvest for the Soave DOC begins between the second and third week of September, and after a short cryomaceration (24 hours at 5 °C), fermentation starts in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 °C. This is followed by aging for three months in stainless steel tanks, weekly stirring of the fine lees, and at least 45 days of bottle aging.

Giaccobe Cut

The Tenuta Corte Giaccobe is located in Roncà. This is a small village a few kilometers from Soave, in the eastern part of the DOC area. After Verona and Lake Garda, Soave is the third largest tourist center in the Verona region. Part of the village's fame is linked to the wine of the same name.

Many still believe that the village got its name from the wine "Soave," which means "gentle" in Italian, because of its quality. However, its origin goes back to the term "Suebi," the classical name for the Swabians, a barbarian tribe from Eastern Europe who settled here after the fall of the Roman Empire and the subsequent invasions. The location was ideal: a rocky outcrop on the edge of the plain overlooking the Via Postumia, which certainly ran nearby.

Today, the village is dominated by a castle from the Scaliger era, from which the walls enclosing the entire village unfold in concentric circles. From the top of the castle, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape and the endless expanses of vineyards.

The Dal Cero family has been producing wine here for over three generations, overseeing every step of production, from the vine to bottling.

The great respect for tradition, the philosophical principle of the founder Augusto Dal Cero, has always remained a mission for his sons Dario and Giuseppe. This fundamental principle has evolved over time and, thanks to the matured expertise and commitment of the youngest generation of the family, has become a pursuit of the maximum expression of a region. The combination of the great experience of the ancestors with the innovative strength and strong passion of the descendants allows Dal Cero even today to create wines of absolute top quality.
