Barolo Lazzarito 2019, which sources its fruit from Serralunga d'Alba, is built like a pyramid. It stands on a thick base of robust fruit and power and rises in intensity thanks to its wonderfully elevated bouquet. It shows direct and solid lines with blackberries, plums, spices, tar, licorice, candied orange peel, and earth infused with truffle. A second wave of aromas offers dark minerals, iron ore, and rust. Barolos from Serralunga d'Alba are often in a category of their own due to their richness and sheer fruit fullness.
With additional aeration, the Lazzarito, certified organic for the first time with this vintage, delivers mint and fine balsamic herbs and will fully delight with further bottle aging.

Vietti
Vietti is undoubtedly one of the best producers in Piedmont. Vietti was a pioneer in producing terroir-specific single-vineyard Barolo and Barbaresco. At a time when the traditional idea of a Barolo or Barbaresco was always a vineyard blend, Vietti wanted to express the special potential of its top vineyards and developed them as single-vineyard wines. But the winery took bold steps not only with its top Nebbiolo wines. Vietti is also known for its exceptional single-vineyard Barbera and its Arneis. The fact that Arneis is experiencing a renaissance in Piedmont today and is now indispensable is also thanks to Vietti. The winery has been managing its vineyards organically for years.
