This ruby-red Montepulciano is cultivated at over 250 meters above sea level in the municipality of Controguerra. After fermentation, the wine is aged in large barrels where it matures for about 12 months.

Its complex aroma reveals notes of sour cherry and ripe blackberries. This is complemented by very characteristic aromas of coffee grounds, tobacco, and licorice.

Velenosi

The company philosophy is expressed in the motto “Wine is the art of making the world dream.” This is achieved with products that stand for structure, balance, and elegance, and that delight the discerning palate with a variety of perceptions.

The Velenosi winery was founded in 1984 thanks to the ambition of two young entrepreneurs. Angela and Ercole Velenosi had only a few decades of wine business experience, but their passion allowed them to learn quickly and continuously improve their techniques in the art of wine production.

Thus, through entrepreneurial spirit and know-how, a winery was created that works with state-of-the-art equipment and produces excellent wine. In 2005, the winery was able to expand its market leadership in the region by hiring Paolo Garbini as managing director. He is advised by, among others, star oenologist Dr. Attilio Pagli.
