Tarlant
The Tarlant family has been producing wine in Œuilly since 1687. In 1911, Louis-Adrien Tarlant was involved in the uprisings of the Marne winegrowers. He was also the one who took action and began bottling his own Champagne from 1928. In the 1980s, Jean-Mary Tarlant was one of the first to produce a zero-dosage Champagne. This has become the flagship product in the range of Mélanie and Benoît Tarlant.
Benoît has been working at the winery since 1999 and was then still able to work alongside his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Today, he produces wine from seven different grape varieties, from 13 hectares and 40 plots in four villages. Each plot is vinified separately, and he uses different containers for this. The acid structure is very important to him. He carefully avoids malolactic fermentation in his wines.
