Pierre Paillard

The Paillard family has been growing wine in Champagne for eight generations now. In 1946, the own brand was founded in Bouzy by Pierre Paillard. The business is now run by his son Benoît Paillard, while the next generation, Antoine Paillard, is already pushing into the business. The family's vineyards have an unusually high proportion of Chardonnay for the region, and the vines are remarkably old. Some plots were already established in the mid-1950s. The wines are separately vinified by grape varieties and parcels. Increasingly, the Paillard house is also focusing on single vineyard cuvées that capture the unique character of the region and the vine stock. All base wines are aged on the fine lees and undergo malolactic fermentation. This results in powerful champagnes with depth and character, which are only dosed in small quantities.
