With tireless dedication, the Bologna family fulfills the legacy of Giacomo Bologna, rightly called the father of modern Barbera d'Asti. The historic jewel of the house is the Bricco dell'Uccellone
Firm and deep, tart, alcohol-warm aroma of ripe, predominantly black berries with smoky-bacon, slightly tobacco-like and ashy tones. Also dried herbs and lightly roasted wood spices. Ripe, fairly dense, again firmly structured, juicy dark fruit. Present, crumbly-sandy, still youthful tannins combined with smoky and again slightly roasted wood notes. Persistent and very strong on the palate, noticeable yet integrated alcohol with some chocolate and coffee in the background. Clearly salty, with good depth.
Very good, firm, juicy, quite spicy and slightly ethereal finish with a somewhat sandy tannin grip and alcohol warmth.
Also available in 6-bottle OHK on request.
