VenetianThe Valpolicella Classico DOC Casa Forlago from the Franchini winery combines tradition and modernity in a particularly elegant way. It is made from classic Veronese grape varieties such as Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinella, complemented by other local varieties in smaller proportions. The vineyards of Forlago are located at around 300 meters altitude, which gives the wine freshness and aromatic clarity.
In the glass, the Valpolicella Classico shows a bright ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, it unfolds a spicy-sweet aromatic profile with notes of cinnamon and white pepper, accompanied by floral nuances such as rosehip and dark berries, especially blackcurrant.
On the palate, the wine presents itself as fresh, juicy, and extremely balanced. Its lively acidity, fine spice, and great drinkability make it a versatile companion for Mediterranean cuisine, pasta, antipasti, white meat, or mild cheese.
The hand harvest in mid-September, a gentle vinification in stainless steel tanks with controlled fermentation temperature, as well as a short maturation period of two months in the bottle preserve the aromatic intensity of this young Valpolicella style.
Each of the prestigious bottles is individually hand-packed – a visible sign of true craftsmanship and lived family tradition. This special care dates back to the time of Emilio Franchini, the grandfather of the current owner Giuliano Franchini, and is still passionately continued today. Thus, each bottle contains an authentic piece of Italian wine culture, created for connoisseurs and gourmets who value quality, origin, and attention to detail.
