The Conterno family is deeply rooted in Monforte d'Alba, and this is clearly reflected in their wines. Before founding their own business in 2003, Diego was a co-founder of the famous winery Conterno Fantino. 

The heart of the winery consists of three outstanding parcels in the famous Cru "Ginestra," which have been owned by the Conterno family for many decades. The terroir concept is pursued here uncompromisingly. This is implemented through a very puristic vinification: All Barolos of the winery are initially fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged in large wooden barrels from the Austrian cooper Stockinger. The differences in the locations are precisely and accurately worked out.
