It was designed to be enjoyed in the year of its harvest, but only reveals its full potential many years after bottling.

In its youth, it is fresh, straightforward, and of great finesse and elegance, with delicate notes of white flowers, balsamic hints, and a touch of apricot.

Over time, it evolves and expresses its mineral notes more decisively, gaining complexity with hints of iodine, spices, and candied fruits. On the palate, it envelops the entire mouth thanks to its significant spiciness, accompanied by a lively and exuberant acidity.

In its youth, it should be served at about 10 degrees Celsius with cold or lukewarm but delicate appetizers and pairs well with cooked, steamed, or grilled fish dishes.

Ca' dei Frati

The Ca’ dei Frati winery has been known since 1782, as evidenced by a document referring to "a house with a cellar in Lugana in the area of Sirmione, called il luogo dei Frati."

In 1939, Felice Dal Cero, son of Domenico, already a winemaker in Montecchia di Crosara near Verona, moved into this house in Lugana di Sirmione and immediately recognized the great potential of the area for viticulture.

After thirty years of work in the vineyard and cellar, his son Pietro participated in the founding of the DOC in 1969 and began bottling his first wine named Lugana Casa dei Frati, later called Ca’ dei Frati. In 2012, Pietro Dal Cero passed away, leaving his cultural heritage to his wife Santa Rosa and his children Igino, Gian Franco, and Anna Maria, who continue the business with the same passion and determination.
