The Le Jour is a Champagne made from 100% Pinot Meunier. The fruit comes from the Premier Cru single vineyard Le Jour in Vrigny. The vines, which were planted in 1971, are on a clay-silt soil with a limestone subsoil. The base wine from the Cœur de Cuvée was spontaneously fermented and aged for nine months in four-year-old 228- and 400-liter barrels. A malolactic fermentation took place. The wine was not sulfured, but was disgorged as Brut Nature .
