Tormaresca: Calafuria 2023

Apulia is known for its ideal conditions for viticulture, which already led to full-bodied wines in the region in ancient times. However, as is often the case, more emphasis was unfortunately placed on quantity rather than quality. But thanks to the innovative spirit of young winemakers and the founding of wineries like Tormaresca, the situation has since changed. Nowadays, wines from southern Italy are popular among experts and have earned an excellent reputation. The Tormaresca winery is part of the large Antinori portfolio and spans more than 500 hectares in the DOC Salento region, located directly on the Adriatic Sea. Summers here are dry and hot, while winters are mild – perfect conditions for indigenous grape varieties.
