Pennette is the thin version of Penne Rigate, a tubular pasta with angled ends about 4-5 cm long. However, unlike Penne, Pennette is not ridged, making it more suitable for cream sauces. This pasta originates from Italy and is made from the finest durum wheat semolina, but without eggs.
