Castle of the Hall

The Castello della Sala is located in Umbria, not far from the Tuscan border and about 18km from the historic town of Orvieto. This impressive medieval castle is surrounded by 500 ha of land, of which 170 ha are vineyards situated at 220-470m above M. The vineyards stretch over gentle hills typical of this landscape. The soil is predominantly clayey, the vineyards are well oriented towards sunrise, and the microclimate is characterized by cold—but not too harsh—winters and very warm summers, during which the morning fog leaves its mark on the ripening grapes. The Castello della Sala area is excellent for the production of white wines. The only exception: Pinot Nero, which thrives best on this soil.
