The 2016 Brunello from Siro Pacenti initially seems more closed than the 2015 vintage from a year ago. Using glasses that are too small even gives the impression that they are noticeably leaner and less concentrated. But the opposite is true! In a large glass and with enough oxygen, the long-lasting 2016s even surpass their predecessors. Absolutely astonishing! The Vecchie Vigne is produced from vines aged between 39 and nearly 50 years.
It is aged for 24 months in selected French barrique barrels, about 75% of which are new.
