Morgante: Bianco d'Avola 2024

The first Nero d'Avola in white!

A white wine from the Morgante estate. There’s no doubt about which grape variety goes into this bottle. The Morgante family dedicates all their experience and passion to the Sicilian Nero d’Avola grape, so it was clear that a white wine from Morgante could only be made from this grape.

On the nose, it initially shows a flawless white wine bouquet: nectarine and green apple, a touch of chamomile flowers and almonds, along with a hint of macchia.

On the palate, there are already subtle hints of red wine. A tannin thread, usually expected in red wines. Not intrusive, but perfectly integrated into the aroma of this exceptional drop. This is accompanied by a slightly salty, mineral vein that, combined with well-balanced freshness, gives the wine a lively, drinkable edge. The finish reveals a lemony note with a touch of raspberry.

A perfect partner for saffron and seafood risotto, veal schnitzel in white wine sauce, or a plate of spaghetti with mussels. Great with paccheri and grilled prawns.

Here are the last bottles of the 2024 vintage. Now, after a year, wonderfully ready to drink. Always a bit challenging when freshly bottled.
