50% Tempranillo, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot. L'Angelet features a selection of the best grapes from the oldest vines of the winery. All grapes are handpicked. The aging method tends to optimize the technical effort. 35% of the wine remains for 16 months in French oak barriques (225L). Bottling is done without prior filtration or fining. Only in truly good vintages is part of L'Angelet elevated to L'Angelet d'Or and aged several months longer in the barrel (L'Angelet 12 months) to give the wine an extra level of quality. This happened in 2000, 2004, and again in 2011.
On the palate, a stately aroma of black berries, espresso, and vanilla. Opulent and smooth tannins.
