PiedmontThe 100% Cortese grown in the southwestern area of Barbaresco is fermented in French barriques. The vines, about 30 years old, are planted on an approximately 1-hectare area with calcareous clay soil.
One of the best-known wines made from this grape variety is called Gavi, named after the region. However, here it is simply called Cortese, named after its grape.
