This "Crema Gianduia" - as it is called in Italian - has nothing to do with what is commonly known as a nut-nougat cream. Beyond hydrogenated fats or palm oil, Papa dei Boschi produces a hazelnut chocolate cream here from the finest ingredients with significantly less sweetness and more (nut) flavor.
This newer "dark" variant differs only by a single (missing) ingredient. No milk powder. Hardly any difference in taste except for a slightly more intense chocolate flavor.
IGP hazelnuts have certain quality parameters, such as a uniform shape, excellent aroma and taste after roasting, as well as good shelf life. These characteristics make this Piedmont hazelnut paste one of the best in the world.
Ingredients: Hazelnut with protected designation of origin I.G.P. (60%), cane sugar, low-fat cocoa powder (10%), Bourbon vanilla
Unfortunately, there was a very small harvest. Prices had to be increased as a result.
