One of the most magnificent Trebbianos in the wine world overall, from 100 percent organic cultivation. The Trebbiano clone of Val d’Arno has been known for its unique quality for centuries. "Boggina B" is made from grapes of the "Poggio" site. The old vines were planted here in the 1970s, but only since 2014 have the grapes for this unique white wine been vinified separately.

Pure, super meticulous hand harvesting, then fermented with wild yeasts from the vineyards in 500-liter oak tonneaux and aged for 15 months on the fine lees, during which the initial bâtonnage, that is, stirring of the lees in the barrel, is gradually reduced.

Even on the nose, the wine is fresher than the brilliant examples from the famously renowned producers of Abruzzo, yet overall in the same league. Seductively creamy and yet with such ultra brilliant acidity and freshness. Infinitely long, nutty, creamy, and salty mineral.

Especially when young, the wine benefits from plenty of air. Unfortunately, there are only a few thousand bottles of it each year.

Petrolo

The Petrolo winery is located in Val d'Arno di Sopra, which stretches between Florence and Arezzo, just like Podere Il Carnasciale.

The quality of the vineyards, located in the hills west and east of the Arno River, was already described as particularly outstanding in 1716 by Duke Cosimo III of Medici and declared among the four best areas for wine and olive cultivation. The gently rolling landscape is characterized by Mediterranean forest alternating with vineyards and olive groves.

In 1947, the winery was sold to the Bazzocchi-Sanjust family. Today, the third generation of the family is involved in winemaking with Luca Sanjust. Luca's grandfather was friends with Giulio Gambelli, one of the most famous oenologists of his time, and with his help made simple yet very good wine. With Luca's mother Lucia joining the winery, more and more focus was placed on quality.

Today, out of a total of over 270 hectares of land, 31 hectares of vines belong to the multiple award-winning winery. The sites range from 250 to 450 meters in elevation and are farmed organically. The soils consist of a complex mixture of marl, small stones, sandstone, and the typical clay and limestone-rich Albarese rock of the Chianti region. Yields here are minimal – averaging 20 to 25 HL. The combination of elevation, soil, and precisely this concentration of low yields leads to the unique character of the winery's wines.
