The 2024 Roero Arneis from Vietti is a bright straw yellow with silvery reflections, extremely captivating on the nose, with wild mint, nettle, then fresh pear, a hint of citrus, ginger, and fennel herb. It immediately invites you to dream of summer and the Dolce Vita of Italy.
On the palate, it is characterized by fine grip and minerality, giving it a very beautiful structure. This Roero Arneis can be aged, but it strongly tempts you to open and finish the bottle right away. The perfect companion to the herb- and vegetable-driven cuisine of Bella Italia.
It was grown in selected vineyard sites in Santo Stefano Roero, in the heart of the Roero region. The vines are on average 25 years old and grow on marl-limestone soils (muschelkalk combined with clay and sand).
The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed, cold macerated overnight, and then gently pressed. Fermentation takes place at a low temperature (10 to 12°C) in stainless steel tanks. Aging on the lees – in stainless steel tanks – until shortly before bottling in February after the harvest, avoiding malolactic fermentation to preserve the wine’s freshness.
