Basil from Ligurian Albenga is the main ingredient for this pesto. Due to the special climatic conditions and thanks to the humus-rich soils, a unique variety of basil grows on the Riviera di Ponente. Not strong and citrusy like its Piedmont cousins, but with a delicate, nuanced aroma. And so is this pesto. Made in Genoese style with olive oil, Parmesan, pine nuts, and garlic. An extremely tasty cream that pairs not only with pasta but also with cold veal and poultry, on mozzarella, and in vegetable soups.
