San Leonardo is the most important wine for Anselmo and his father Carlo to demonstrate that great and long-lasting Bordeaux blends can also be produced in Trentino.
Since its creation in 1982, the grape composition has always been the same - 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenère, and 10% Merlot.
Spontaneously fermented in concrete tanks, the flagship of Tenuta San Leonardo matures for 24 months in partly new and used French oak barriques.
On the nose, a rich potpourri of dark berries, along with finely spicy notes of mocha, cedarwood, and clove. On the palate, fantastically fresh, with stunning elegance and tension; the tannins are smooth and perfectly integrated, while the finish is dominated by dense aromas and mineral freshness.
A spectacular wine with great aging potential!
