The Les Grands Nots is a champagne from the Têtes de Cuvée, made from one third each of Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay from the complex chalky, limestone, and clay soils of the Côte de Sézanne. The vines are over 50 years old. The spontaneously fermented juices were each aged for ten months in Burgundy Pièces with multiple use. These barrels are usually about ten years old. The vintage is 2010. The Dégorgement took place in July 2022 with zero grams dosage. A total of 1,432 bottles were produced.

Nose
The Les Grands Nots is a champagne that is complex from the start, where you can clearly sense the aging of the base wine in wood, especially at the beginning, in the aroma. It is initially dominated by rather exotic notes. There is a ripe nose of pineapple and mango, lots of citrus, some ripe pear, candied ginger, and stone fruit. The fruit is accompanied by subtle wood and vanilla, puff pastry, a fine oxidation, as well as hints of wax and honey.
Palate
On the palate, the champagne tastes mature and developed with lots of tender fruit, plenty of ripe citrus fruits, and some candied lemon peel. Here too, notes of vanilla, puff pastry, and brioche appear. The wine coats the palate wonderfully and provides a pleasant fullness and presence. Almost unexpectedly, fresh, pressing, and lively acidity then bursts in, swirling the ripe fruit components and blending with them. Only now does the power and vitality of this 13-year-old champagne become fully clear. However, one impression lingers on the palate for a long time; because the Les Grands Nots fades away only slowly, leaving traces of salted caramel, iodine, apple, and citrus peels.
