Gérard Bertrand
Gérard owes his father Georges above all the passion for wine and rugby. In his early youth, he was already introduced to the art of winemaking in the cellar of Villemajou. At the age of 12, he began playing at the Narbonne Rugby Club and, like Georges before him, became a rugby ace. After his successful professional rugby career, he returned to the winery with old values firmly in mind: maximum commitment to top performance, fair play, and respect for people and the environment. Today, Gérard Bertrand is a passionate winemaker, with biodynamic farming playing a pioneering role. For his innovative spirit and outstanding commitment to sustainability, he was recently awarded the “Green Emblem” by Robert Parker, one of only 24 wineries worldwide to receive this honor. With this, he sets an important example and is a true role model in the wine world.
"Gérard Bertrand, an outstanding figure in the world of wine, is often called a 'winemaker icon,' 'pioneer of sustainability,' 'rosé expert,' and 'master of Languedoc.' His versatility and tireless dedication have repeatedly redefined the wine industry. As a passionate advocate of sustainable practices, his wines reflect the terroir and spirit of southern France. Among his creations, the exclusive and highly praised rosé wine Clos du Temple stands out. Dive into the fascinating world of Gérard Bertrand!"
