The Chardonnay Freienfeld, a blend from the best vineyards around the village center of Kurtatsch. Authenticity and environmentally friendly cultivation are the guiding principles in the vineyard.

The Chardonnay is characterized by stylish opulence, with lots of exotic fruit and delicate, fine toasted aromas. The complex bouquet recalls ripe citrus fruits, coconuts, and a hint of vanilla. Extract and acidity create an appealing balance. The taste is round, with velvety fruit and pleasantly integrated tannins. A multi-layered, elegant Chardonnay with great aging potential.

Chardonnay FREIENFELD: the charming one.

Fermentation in barriques followed by aging (including bâtonnage) for 12 months with partial malolactic fermentation. Fine lees aging for 6 months in large oak barrels, at least 6 months bottle aging.

Cantina Kurtatsch

The Kurtatsch winery is located directly on the Wine Road in the south of South Tyrol. In Kurtatsch, the varied inner-alpine continental climate with its over 2000 hours of sunshine per year and the cool evening winds create ideal conditions for the growth of highly aromatic fruity, full-bodied red wines and elegant, mineral white wines. +

The French speak of terroir when they mean the unique identity of a wine. This distinctive origin is the greatest asset of the Kurtatsch wines. The soils are rich in limestone, offer good water permeability, and are sometimes mixed with clay. The secret of great wines lies beneath the earth: the unique Kurtatsch vineyard potential extends from 250 to 900 meters above sea level on rugged, sometimes adventurously steep hill and slope sites, where ancient rock communicates mysteriously through the wine.
