Cantina Terlan
In the middle of the Terlan wine-growing region, one of the first wine cooperatives in South Tyrol was founded in 1893. At that time, 24 winegrowers set the goal of joint production and sales promotion. Today, the winery, with about 120 members, a cultivation area of 150 ha, and a total annual production of 18,000 hl, is one of the smaller operations in the region.
Or 1.4 million bottles, one of the smaller operations in the region. The manageable size contributes significantly to quality assurance. Under the expert supervision of oenologist Rudi Kofler, 70% white and 30% red wines mature in the modern winery, all of which have the D.O.C. classification. Terlan wines embody the special characteristics of climate and soil. In their careful maturation, great importance is placed on preserving and emphasizing the regional typicity. The result is distinctive, very individual wines characterized by fruit and pedigree, but also by striking density and longevity.
